Since the launch of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of personalities, and a exciting storyline featuring celestial beings, evil spirits, and dark forces growing in influence within the city.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the latest installment of Campaign 4 are included.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
Episode 3 concluded with a huge suspense moment and introduced the first table of adventurers who will split off from the main group to begin their own adventure, separate from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
With an extensive roster, it was obvious from the outset that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Overture, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Planners, and Questers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
As described by the DM, the combat-focused party is for players who prefer a classically intense combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are scarce.
At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might appear out of place, but the actions of episode 3 make it clear why these five characters are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the team has a clear idea where to go next after a intense opening clash with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose passing kicked off the narrative’s action—used the foes for his selfish purposes, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the character, and taking all the magical artifacts to sell off.
Casimir then settled his debts and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each character has a individual motive to exit Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as the close ally and best friend, seeks revenge.
- Kattigan knows the region and warns that it is a nasty location.
- The strong character and The cleric, having resisted his house’s orders to eliminate Teor and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- However, their position as important members in the influential clan could assist the party enter areas they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, Teor pledged a eternal obligation to Wicander for his deliverance and will now go with him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the authorities that rule the setting for a range of causes, making remaining behind dangerous:
- Thimble and Kattigan are known criminals.
- Tyranny and Wicander turned against House Halovar and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- Teor is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This leaves them no alternative but to travel to the remote area in pursuit of the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
From episode three’s post-show segment, we discover that the warrior group will not appear the following episode, leaving the other eight players to assemble the Seekers and Planners parties.
Audiences can expect finding out which adventurers will be in which group in the season’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
